Logo 29 from the the 30 logos design challenge - this brief was a request for either a combination mark or word-mark. They were looking for something quite subtle and asked for a black and white design. The design has a classy simple look with a single line thickness on all the elements. It also is slightly playful with the unusual angle drawing the attention and helping to suggest the different meanings.
I came up with the shape of a graduation cap that also doubles as a lens either for a projector (as in a cinema) or on a film camera. I wanted to combine elements of education and film in the design, but not make it too overstated.
